| The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible to the citizenry to objectively investigate any and all crimes that are reported to our agency. To this end, we are charged with the duty of interviewing complainants, victims, witnesses and suspects. In addition, we process crime scenes utilizing the latest innovation in technology and years of experience and expertise to solve crimes. When our resources are limited, we turn to other agencies like the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other agencies to assist. The responsibility does not end here, for it is necessary that all facts and evidence be compiled and presented to the District Attorney's Office for criminal prosecution against a suspect(s). Ultimately, we must be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, in a court of law, that the suspect in question committed the specific crime(s) for which he is charged. Due to the size of the agency we do not have specialized divisions within CID, with the exception of the Vice/Narcotics/Gangs division. Our investigators are trained to work violent crimes, crimes against persons, property crimes, drug offenses, sexual assaults, missing persons, delinquent juveniles, crimes against children, computer crimes, pawn shop detail and miscellaneous offenses. Please feel free to contact our office by phone, email, facebook, etc. with any questions or concerns. Your information will be kept confidential. The working hours for this Division are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 AM, Monday-Friday excluding holidays. A call-out system exists 24 hours a day. Contact with the on-call investigator is made through our Communications Division at (706) 554-8029.
